Cool Reason January 5, 2007

A reasoned and well written piece about about the difference between a neurotic fear of the unknown (in this case the future) and provable facts. The claim that the drought is the the worst in a thousand years sound similar to Clintons demogogury when he claimed that the economy was the worst in the past fifty years or when Major Owens claimed that the number of dead slaves that had been thrown overboard during slave importation, had altered the currents in the oceans.

Hyperbole and fear mongering in order to manipulate, has more to do with meglomania than actually making any productive contribution.
